Stop Placement Against Swing Structure
How clinic participants place stops beyond the swing that would invalidate the thesis, instead of anchoring to round numbers.
Round-number stops feel tidy and often sit inside the noise of a liquid name. Structure-based stops sit beyond the swing that would prove the idea wrong. The difference shows up in how often you get clipped without the market truly reversing.
In the Chart Structure Clinic we mark the last higher low on a long, then ask whether price beyond that low still supports the thesis. If the answer is no, the stop belongs there—or the trade does not belong in the book.
Reward multiples shrink when stops sit too far away. That is useful information. A setup that only works with a paper-thin stop is usually a different setup entirely, or no setup at all.
Keep the markup consistent across instruments. A desk that argues about every stop will argue about every exit. Shared swing rules reduce that friction before the open.
